Sanford Burnham Prebys is a preeminent, independent biomedical research institute dedicated to understanding human biology and disease and advancing scientific discoveries to profoundly impact human health. For over 40 years, our research has produced breakthroughs in cancer, neuroscience, immunology, and children’s diseases, and is anchored by our NCI-designated cancer center and advanced drug discovery capabilities.
The Tian lab at Sanford Burnham Prebys in San Diego focuses on the role of epigenetic instability in the aging process. Our recent work including epigenetic reprogramming and aging clocks supports that the progressive loss of epigenetic information over time is a key driver of aging. The current research of the lab aims to understand how the epigenetic landscape is set up and maintained and why the maintenance system fails which contributes to aging and age-related diseases such as cancer and neurodegeneration. For more information, see https://www.xiaotianlab.org/.
We are seeking a talented, highly motivated researcher to study the fundamental role of epigenomic changes in aging and age-related diseases.
